Becoming a new patient at Delve Psychiatry starts with reaching out to schedule an initial consultation. During this first step, we’ll gather some basic information and help verify your insurance coverage. Once you're scheduled, you'll meet with a psychiatrist (MD) for a comprehensive evaluation to discuss your mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. From there, we’ll develop a personalized care plan that may include psychotherapy, medication management, TMS, or ketamine treatment based on your needs. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and supportive as possible from day one.

Psychiatrists, like our Dr. John Reitano, are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions. They can prescribe medications, provide evaluations, and oversee treatment plans that may include therapies like TMS or ketamine infusion. They can also provide psychotherapy and supervise therapists in their care. Therapists, on the other hand, focus exclusively on talk therapy and emotional support through approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other counseling methods. While psychiatrists often manage the medical aspects of care, therapists help patients process experiences, build coping strategies, and work toward long-term emotional well-being. Both roles are collaborative and essential to our integrative approach to mental health care.
-
Delve Psychiatry offers both in-person and telehealth appointments to accommodate each patient’s needs and preferences. Intakes are always done in-person by Dr. John Reitano. He typically follows up in-person. For those who prefer face-to-face visits, we welcome you to our Las Vegas office. For added flexibility and convenience, especially for follow-ups or talk therapy sessions, we also provide secure telehealth options. Certain services, such as TMS and ketamine infusion therapy, require in-person care due to the nature of the treatments.
-
During your first visit at Delve Psychiatry, you can expect a thoughtful and comprehensive evaluation focused on understanding your mental health needs. Based on the information you provide, your provider will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy, medication management, or advanced options like TMS or ketamine infusion therapy. The goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and confident in your path forward.

TMS & Ketamine
-
TMS therapy, or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic fields to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. It’s FDA cleared for both depression and OCD and is often recommended for individuals who haven’t experienced relief from traditional treatments like medication or talk therapy. During a session, a TMS device delivers focused magnetic pulses while the patient remains seated and fully awake. Over time, this stimulation can improve brain function and reduce symptoms of major depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder.
At Delve Psychiatry, one of our TMS devices incorporates functional MRI (fMRI) technology to enhance precision and efficacy. The fMRI provides detailed brain activity maps, allowing us to deliver more targeted and personalized TMS interventions based on each individual’s unique neurobiology. TMS therapy is well-tolerated, involves no anesthesia or systemic side effects, and patients can return to normal activities right after each session.
-
You may be a good candidate for TMS treatment at Delve Psychiatry if you’ve been diagnosed with depression or OCD and have not experienced meaningful relief from medications or therapy alone. TMS is especially helpful for individuals dealing with treatment-resistant conditions who are seeking a non-invasive option with fewer side effects. Before starting TMS, our team will complete a thorough evaluation of your medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals to determine if TMS is an appropriate next step for you.
-
Most patients undergo a course of TMS therapy that includes around 36 sessions, typically spread out over six to eight weeks. Each session usually lasts between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the treatment protocol and area of the brain being targeted. At Delve Psychiatry, we tailor the number of sessions and the timing of each treatment to best fit each individual’s needs and response to therapy, ensuring the process is as effective and efficient as possible.
-
Ketamine therapy at Delve Psychiatry is primarily used to treat individuals with treatment-resistant depression (those who have not found relief with traditional antidepressants or psychotherapy). It may also support those dealing with severe anxiety, PTSD, or emotional numbness. At Delve, ketamine is administered as a slow intravenous infusion in a controlled, outpatient setting. Each session typically lasts about an hour and is closely monitored by our experienced medical team to ensure safety, comfort, and effectiveness. This method allows us to tailor the dose to each patient’s unique needs, promoting both immediate relief and long-term improvement.
-
Both TMS and Ketamine therapy are considered safe and well-tolerated when administered by qualified professionals, but like all medical treatments, they may involve some side effects. TMS therapy can cause mild scalp discomfort or headaches during or after a session due to the magnetic pulses used, though these symptoms typically fade with continued treatment. Serious adverse effects are rare. Ketamine therapy may temporarily affect perception, mood, or coordination during and shortly after the infusion. Some individuals may experience fatigue, nausea, or dissociation, but these effects usually subside within a few hours. At Delve Psychiatry, every treatment is delivered in a medically supervised environment with careful attention to safety, precision, and patient comfort.
